JUTE STRIPED BASKET – Jute Basket with Colorful Stripes
Crochet Hook Size: J / 10 6.00 mm
Materials: Jute – 5 colors of jute
1st color – natural (tan)
2nd color – green
3rd color – yellow
4th color blue
5th color red
Start with a magic ring
ROUND 1 – ch 1, 6 sc into the center of the magic ring , then join with a sl st to the top of the first sc of this round
ROUND 2 – ch 1, then 2 sc into each st, join with sl st to the first sc of this round. (Should have 12 sc when you finish this round)
ROUND 3 – ch 1, 1 sc into the same st where you just joined with a slip st, then 2 sc into the next st, * then 1 sc into the next st, then 2 sc in the next st *, repeat from * to * until end of the round. join with a slip st to the first sc of this round (should have 18 sts when you finish this round.)
ROUND 4 – ch 1, sc into the same st where you just joined with a slip st, then 1 sc in the next st, then 2 sc into the next st, * then 1 sc into the next 2 sts, then 2 sc in the next st *, repeat from * to * until end of the round. join with a slip st to the first sc of this round (should have 24 sts when you finish this round)
ROUND 5 – ch 1, sc into the same st where you just joined with a slip st, then 1 sc in the next 2 sts, then 2 sc into the next st, * then 1 sc into the next 3 sts, then 2 sc in the next st *, repeat from * to * until end of the round. join with a slip st to the first sc of this round (should have 30 sts when you finish this round)
ROUND 6 – ch 1, sc into the same st where you just joined with a slip st, then 1 sc in the next 3 sts, then 2 sc into the next st, * then 1 sc into the next 4 sts, then 2 sc in the next st *, repeat from * to * until end of the round. join with a slip st to the first sc of this round (should have 36 sts when you finish this round)
ROUND (7 – 14) – 1 sc into each st around working in the back loops only. changing colors each round as shown below. (you should have 36 sts when you finish this round since this round will not have any increase sts)
change to 2nd color of jute (I used green for round 8)
ROUND 8 – repeat row 7
change back to the natural color jute (1st color)
ROUND 9 – repeat row 7
change to the 3rd color of jute (I used yellow for round 10)
ROUND 10 – repeat row 7
change back to the natural color jute (1st color)
ROUND 11 – repeat row 7
change to the 4th color of jute (I used blue for round 12)
ROUND 12 – repeat row 7
change back to the natural color jute (1st color)
ROUND 13 – repeat row 7
change to the 5th color of jute (I used red for round 14)
ROUND – 14 repeat row 7
ROUND 15 – slip st in each stitch around
Fasten off and weave in ends
